This is a five day hunting experience that is for more advanced hunters of all ages who are pursuing a career in guiding or want to learn new skills to teach hunting. John is an expert and now full time hunter who wants to educate a new generation of hunters to become the teachers of the craft. This five day learning experience involves classroom and field instruction to teach new comers to the sport about hunting. topics covered will include how to introducing new hunters to the outdoors, tracking, stalking, picking sites for tree stands, how to evaluate new hunters and keep them engaged in the field, teaching weapon handling/ selection, and filming of the hunter you are guiding. Students from this class will also be connected with local guides or our own outfitting service for a part time job. The final days of this class you will act as the guide for an instructor or fellow student and lead them through a successful hunt from the start of the day to the end and some will lead there mock hunting client through a day of various hunting methods and tactics. This is a 3 day experience that is designed to teach new hunters as much as possible for the goal of creating knowledgeable, effective, and ethical hunters. This class and hunting experience will teach about White Tail, Eastern Turkey, and small game hunting in Rhode Island/southern Massachusetts. Instruction topics for those species will teach methods of planning a trip, animal behaviors, weapon choice and use, picking hunting spots, spotting, tracking, and ultimately how to field dress and process your harvest ethically. . The program is open to all ages but only age 12 and up can partake in the second half of the experience as a hunter but are welcome as an observer for the hunting days.
